Suzie Caruze - We Can Laugh 7" (1984)

Susan Mouch led this Bay Area band (Oakland), I believe this single was their only release, a Motels influenced sound, it was recorded in San Francisco. Produced by T.J. Tindall (MFSB,Sal Soul Orchestra, Trammps). I picked this up by chance one day at Zia Records in Chandler, AZ.

Suzie Caruze:
Susan Mouch - vocals, acoustic guitar
Keith Evans - guitar, vocals
David Wegner - bass
Steve Harris - synthesizer, piano
Peter Carland - drums

Hello, I am David Wenger the Bassist and a founding member of Suzie Caruze. Thanks for posting our single. I have many photos of the band, Susan Mouch lived in Tuscon and performed there with Steve Harris, Kieth Evans is a child hood friend of Howe Gelb from Scranton PA. They did some music in Blackey Rancette? Sue and Kieth married. We changed our name to The Bandaleers in 1985. Suzie Caruze and the Bandallers played in Touscon and all over California with Textones, Rank and File, Richard Thompson, David Lindley,Bonnie Hayes and the Wild Combo, And tons more that I can not remember right now, I played slide Danelectro in Amsterdam with Howe and the Giant Sandworms @ the MelkVeg. I will try to send photos in the future. Thanks. Dave

Dave,

I remember Suzie well from those days in Tucson. She was the sweetest, coolest chick! If you run into her, tell her to look up Sharon Ely (Forsmo....married name) in Phoenix. I'm in the book.

Sharon

Sharon Ely was the queen of voice. I will never forget her version of "Goodbye Charlie's got the blues"
The best.
If you didn't know about THE MEETING PLACE circa 1980 in Tucson, so sorry!
Tis where Suzie Caruze debuted.

Hey David,
Steve Harris is my dad, but I haven't been able to find much from when he played with Suzie Caruze. He passed away in 2002. I would love to see these pictures but I can't find you on Facebook. Luke Quinn Harris. I'm the only one.
